Buffalo fans have really nothing positive to say about him. That's okay though we just needed a warm body that wasn't gonna cost us a pick or asset.

excellent addition for both Bogosian and wife who is a positive mind expert related to her soccer days. Bogo has bottomed out and has nowhere to go but up. Counting on point a game Gaunce gives me trepidation. Bogo wore an A for a reason, certainly incompatible with the direction the Sabres are steering. Mix all our big guy D together and shake well and figure out who might be hot and put that one on ice. Schenn sucks analytically but has had some memorable hits of late, Gaunce defies description, I have never understood the contract that Rutta got and Coburn needs a kick in the butt to get started. We are trending towards making me wish for Jake Dotchin to return.

They could be absolutely correct and it doesn't matter. Doesn't cost a thing to take a flyer on him.

Worst case he is a depth RHD for no internal cost other than cap space.
Best case he is an upgrade over Rutta/Schenn.
Good deal all around.

I'd still like a legit RHD and some nastiness for the bottom six, but if JBB does nothing else, I think he's done just fine to prep the roster for another Cup run.

Hmmmm.

So is this our answer to avoiding the sweep again?

No our answer is Coleman and the changes Cooper made during the season. And well, remembering that we made it deep several times before.

And Maroon, and Schenn, and Shattenkirk.
