Don't worry about it, just make sure you stand for the national anthem.

If this shit isn't stopped soon, I don't know how America recovers from it. It's unforgivable given the history of the Japanese-American Internment camps.

The GOP is using children in cages as a bargaining chip to try to make Democrats support their xenophobic wall and immigration policy? Literally not worthy of being pissed on if they were on fire.

58% of Republicans support this. I've said it before, people who say that this shouldn't come in the way of friendships are full of it. Taxes, gun control, sure. But this is your moral fiber. This is starting you are ok with torturing children, and if you actively support that, I dont want you to have anything to do with my life.

Agreed. This is a bridge too far. I've got parents, aunts and uncles that I'm seeing this summer. I'm afraid that this will come up, and that I may be having some serious fights with some family members.

Sorry but I could not let this rest. I will post this and be gone from this thread .

Yes, this must be fixed. The correct way to fix this is through legislation.

We have law enforcement to enforce the laws that our legislative bodies and the executive branches of our local, state and federal government pass and enroll.

Someone that crosses our borders illegally and is apprehended more than once is charged with a felony. Under our laws a law enforcement officer can be charged with failure to carry out their sworn duty if they look the other way when a felony is committed. We have to charge and then the prosecutor can decide if they want to file the charge or not.

A first time crosser that is apprehended is charged with a misdemeanor. Years ago we had the discretion to charge or not. But after years of those complaining that they were being treated unfairly if they were charged, this discretion was taken away by many agencies, including the federal government.

Today we learned that those being held in a juvenile facility came here illeagly…...by crossing our border in a place other than a port of entry. Those that cross at a port of entry are not separated unless the adult has an outstanding warrant and there is no other adult crossing with them.

A bill should be written and passed and enacted that not only helps these children, but also tries to solve the root of the problem.

If you want to help these children, and truly stop this from happening to others, you have no choice but to give Trump his wall.

A wall will be a major deterrent for smugglers escorting those across our borders.

It will also serve as a major deterrent from those smuggling the large quantiles of the #1 drug killing our people...…..fentanyl.

Time to face the facts. Helping these children also requires us to help those that are not here yet. If we do not, the flow will continue...……..that is unless you just open the borders and allow anyone to enter.

This is not a right or left issue. This is not an issue that other administrations have done the exact same thing and separated these children. This is an issue that our legislators should fix and we should put into play safeguards to put an end to this issue.

The time has come for our legislative bodies to come together and pass a bill.

Bullshit. No fucking wall.

Stop the child abuse

Lock Trump up.

That’s the bipartisan solution.

It's understandable that they feel that way. I find it reprehensible, but I haven't been fed a steady diet day in and day out of dehumanizing rhetoric. This is how it starts. The crackdown on asylum seekers has been ramping up for at least the past 2 administrations. Bush created ICE, Obama ramped up deportations and all the while the GOP and their various conservative propaganda mouthpieces were dehumanizing anyone attempting to get into this country for whatever reason.

But all that said we can't, for a second, allow this injustice to persist. You should just bookmark that video and if they start talking about it, play it at 100% volume on your phone in their faces. It took me considerable effort to watch it all the way through.

Couldn't agree more.

You have to face the hard and honest facts Donnie, something that at times you have a problem with.

If someone is stopped by LE and they have a warrant, and have children with them and no one to turn these children over to just where to you think they go? By law they can not stay with the parent and be housed with them, so what makes one crossing the border illegally any different? If they were to cross at a port of entry and if they were not wanted they are not separated.

So what was so dumb about the post? This exact same thing happened under Bush and Obama. Funny thing is you never heard our First Lady under the Bush administration say a word. Where were you then when this was happening? Did you complain then? Did you offer a solution?

Or was the post stupid as it also dealt with the root of the problem? Don't most laws want to deal with the root of the problem?

So how do you fix it??? Look the other way or have an Executive Order that could be illegal deal with the problem?

No, you have those that crated the law fix the law. It could happen tomorrow if they didn't want this to be a political issue for November.
