It could start out at a higher amount for the first 4 or 5 years then drop down more and more like the way MSL's did.

I like the sound of that deal. Of course I like the sound of almost any deal to keep Lecavalier that long. If those numbers really are the neighborhood we're talking about though then that speaks volumes about how much Vinny wants to stay here. I'd love to see the C back on him at that rate too.

I would not be surprised if it is something like 10 years at a reduced rate for the longer, guaranteed, term.

Hey Vinny, sign this deal and hope to hell you never go 10 games without a point,or these same people will be calling for your head.

Actully Vinny sign for as much as you can get, for as long as you can,Good on you pal,in the minds of so many they just drafted your replacement

Go for 10 for 10

Koules and Barrie had lunch Sunday in Montreal with Vinny Lecavalier to keep up momentum on the apparently progressing contract negotiations. Asked when the All-Star center's extension will be announced, Koules said, "Vinny bought (lunch). That should give you a clue."
