If you go back to one of Murray's pre-draft interviews, I think he said he believes Drouin will end up being about 6'1" 195-200 lbs, which is just a small refrigerator and its contents short of Erne's size. He already has an NHL body in terms of his lower-body strength. Where he needs a lot of work is in his upper body strength, where there's a lot of room for him to fill out.

I expect him to be in the NHL next season, because Murray also said he believed their top-5 guys were all NHL-ready. The thought of Jon Cooper, Rookie Whisperer working with Jonathan Drouin should make all your hearts sing. Expect a development path similar to how he handled Palat and Namestnikov. He'll probably use Drouin more sparingly in the first half, giving him time to adjust to the pro game, and then boom, he'll come on like gangbusters in the second half and (knock on wood) the playoffs.

Remember, in Stammer's rookie season he also had the slow first half and exploded in the second half, and that coincided with the fact he gained a lot of muscle over the course of the year as the Lightning's training staff worked with him.
