NHLNUMBERS shows he is making $1,000,000 with a cap hit of .778 and will be a UFA at the end of this season.

Yeah, I initially made the same mistake. On Capgeek it showed that deal going through 2012-2013..but the most current deal is 1 year, 1m. That prior deal was bought out by the Jackets, so in the end of the day, he's cheap. Cap hit is $1,000,000 per the top summary of his #'s.

He'll do his job here, just a shame he's 4 years too late.

But for a 7th, I'm ok with it.

Yeah, if that's the case I'm not nearly as upset. I couldn't remember if he was bought out or if he was picked up on reentry waivers.

But I think you are making a big assumption about him being physical. That is why everyone loved us picking up Brewer, but if he was physical, we have certainly neutered him here.

It's a 7th if he plays 15 games and we make the playoffs.

Default Bolts acquire Mike Commodore

Since it's a Lightning trade, I figured it should have it's own thread.

In exchange for a conditional 2013 7th round pick

Commodore is making 1 mil and will be an UFA at the end of the season.

The Commodore 64 pickup is a no risk/no reward deal. We get a warm body, which unfortunately means Hedman is worse than expected (shut him down unless we do push for the playoffs,) and it may cost us nothing. Now, Clark and/or Gervais could be on the clearance rack for a mid round to late round pick.

There's no truth to the rumor that the winner of the Mike Commodore and Matt Walker fight (pictured) won the rights to get traded to the Bolts.

Could be a small reward. If he does bring physicality and clears our net, he is easily my fav dman on this team, and may be worth bringing back in the 5/6 spot for cheap next year.
