Default Mattias Ritola on Waivers (11/02/2011)

Mattias Ritola has been waived, per Bob McKenzie.

Is someone going to be coming up? Is the NHL ready for Carter Ashton? Will the DNA line be re-united?

Also -- should we at least consider the possibility that some lousy NHL team is going to pick him up?

Ritola being out doesnt leave a top line spot open does it? unless ashton comes in and shuffles malone down?

Im thinking more along the lines of tyrell coming up. But you cant blame the team if they bring ashton up hoping to kick start some offense.

If anyone comes up it's Ashton.

Ritola should pass. Hasn't been impressive and has another year on his contract.

Agree on both comments. I expect Ashton to come up and not return to Norfolk, reminiscent of Paul Ranger. I'm expecting Ashton to show he's an NHL'er.

Hopefully that's where the comparison stops...

Am I the only one who doesn't want Ashton brought up? I'd rather him absolutely wreck the league down in Norfolk this year and then start next year in Tampa as a top-6 player

I agree with you, Norfolk is the place for him this year.

He is the type of player needed on the team. However, he only comes south if Jones is also sent back to the ads. IMHO.

I expect Ashton to play into January get some good game time in Norfolk and then be brought south. Once here he will not be going back. Paul Ranger sort of the mystery man of the bolts. Just kind of fell off the map into the abys no one has seen nor heard from him since the day he walked away from the game.

I think we could see a trade coming for the "d" and/or tough forward. Much like last year 'Y' will measure what he has and the needs of the team and I think we can expect something much like the goalie (Roli) last year. Let's hope we hit the jackpot on whomever is brought back to the team.

Go bolts

Don't see why someone has to come south. Didn't they have to make a move in order to keep Connolly? Aren't we still scratching forwards?

Now I would agree that Cater will be the first one to come up when needed.
