The Tigres put up a touchdown on the Armada behind a 16-save performance by goalie Etienne Montpetit (University of Moncton commit) and two goals from Vitalii Abramov (CLB, 2016 3rd round pick).

Raddysh and Katchouk teamed up twice in the 3rd to help spur a Soo rally from a 5-2 deficit to tie the game and eventually force overtime and the shootout. The duo first setup Conor Timmins (COL, 2017 2nd round pick) on a power play marker, and then again on Morgan Frost’s (PHI, 2016 1st round pick) 5-5 equalizer and second goal of the game. Raddysh failed to convert in the shootout, but Owen Sound’s Maksim Sushko (PHI, 2017 4th round pick) beat Matthew Villalta (LAK, 2017 3rd round pick) to give the Attack the victory. Brett McKenzie (VAN, 2016 7th round pick) paced Owen Sound with two goals.

Lipanov assisted on a 1st period Blake Murray (2019 draft eligible) shorthanded goal and Liam Ross (undrafted) scored twice as the Wolves shutout the Petes behind Marshall Frappier’s (undrafted) 27-save effort. Paquette missed his second consecutive games for the Petes.

Western Hockey League

The Warriors broke open a 3-3 tied game with two late goals in the 3rd period as Wheat Kings fell to the Warriors on the road. Vince Loschiavo (undrafted) paced Moose Jaw with two 1st period goals.

Minnesota State High School League

Lightning prospect Sammy Walker was named the 34th recipient of the annual Mr. Hockey Award as the State of Minnesota’s top outstanding senior high boy’s hockey player. The Edina High School captain led the Hornets to a 3rd place finish in the 2018 Minnesota high school Class AA State tournament and earned all-tournament honors. Walker also won the Minneapolis Star Tribune’s Metro Player of the Year. The Mr. Hockey Award is selected by a panel of NHL scouts, junior scouts and coaches, and selected members of the media around the state.
