Default If Cheechoo were on re-entry waivers

Would we want him?

If Tanguay can be moved, yes. Two serial underachievers this season on our roster would be too big of a risk.

Tough decision...

It would be 1.75 for next year and cost them about $450,000 the rest of this season...
I guess it depends on what your scouts think about him being able to turn it around..

Default risk

i think I would take a chance on cheechoo, and i think the upside is better than Tangs, although Tangs might be just the set up Cheechoo needs. hey his goal scoring ability is still there, it just has to be brought out again. At this point it is worth a try. maybe we can trade Tangs to Chicago for Brouwer?

Don't get me wrong. I'm a HUGE Brouwer fan. Just not sure he's a priority acquisition with Malone on a long-term contract and Downie on a soon-to-be-multi-year-deal.

His stats have certainly taken a dive...

He turns 30 in July...

It's an impossible question to answer without knowing where his head is, what kind of guy he is and watch him play 10-20 games..
You can't just go by stats the last two years..
..
If you feel he can go back to being maybe a 20-25 goal guy next year if he plays in the top 9, 1.75 ain't bad...

I don't think he's what we need. What we need is another Downie.
