I hope OK didn't drag some of the boys out to the Golden Globes afterparties. I feel like we actually have to worry about those kind of things.

I didn't attend Sunday's practice, but DC is reporting that Pettinger skated on the top line with the Vinnys. Krajicek, Eminger and Smaby didn't practice again. Mihalik has been re-called.

I can't imagine Pettinger skating on the top line all night long.

That's where he was during the 3rd period against the Ducks. So I guess the coaching staff liked what they saw.

I do like Pettinger's speed and willingness to go right at the defense, but I don't see him playing the whole game on that line unless it's absolutely on fire.

Damn, wish it was Sunday and they could start it early like 530 PT. Ugh. Guess I'll just grab some coffee in the morning before work.

I wouldn't mind seeing Stamkos tossed up there wth the Vinnys on the top line. They did alright with out him at center in the Ducks game so why not give it a try. Might boost his confidence and get him going. Dug the MSL-Halpern-Malone line. Just dig MSL's fire of late. When he burns around an All Star defenseman and scores a shorty like that, just makes me feel all good inside and gives me hope! It does remind me of his MVP days, but more so of when he and VL4 were going on their scoring tear 06-07 and he scored his season high 43 goals. He keeps this play up his numbers should easily be over 80 points this season, which is pretty damn respectable.

I like Pettinger on this team. He's a good lower-line player, and yeah, they can spot him on a scoring line to add some energy. But there's no way he's a scoring-line player. He isn't and most likely will never be. But I like his game and what he brings every night.

This is the kind of game you can't lose if you are even half-serious about climbing out of the dregs.

OK, keys to the game:

1.) Take the body.

2.) Take the body.

3.) Take the body.

Also, they need to take the body. Establish that identity early and often.
