• If we're dreaming up lineups, I want to dream the dream where Drouin plays so well he commands a spot on a scoring line.

• Malone needs to be traded the moment he plays more than 3-4 weeks consecutively. Ideally, we look for someone similarly physical and nasty in return, but it's probably more likely we would move up Killorn or Panik to take the role of puck retriever/finisher.

• My fourth line might end up being Cooper's shutdown third line, but my hope is that my SyraNo kid line would deserve plenty of ice time and give us the ability to roll three legit scoring lines on what could be one of the best offenses in the game.

• Obviously we all want another Dman added to the mix, but with salary committed to the three veterans (Brewer, Carle and Salo), it certainly is possible Yzerman will go into the season with either Aulie, Sustr or Barberio as our No. 6 (or two of the three rotating between the ice and the pressbox). Yzerman has to still have hope that Aulie becomes a reliable stay-at-homer, and there is some upside, albeit slight, still there. … Anyway, it's altogether common for teams to start a season with a young player or two getting a shot before the GM makes a trade or two at Christmas. The problem all of us fans see, however, is that with the age/experience of our goalies and the rest of the issues on defense (not to mention Salo's track record of missing as many games as Malone, which was somehow averted last season) we can't really afford to ice another leaky group of blueliners.

Gudy and Hedman might be a bad match because they both want to push up. I think Hedy needs someone like Salo to be a stay-at-homer behind him and ditto that for Gudas. Of course we have garbage for stay-at-homers, but that's a different issue.

Every night? No. Ever few games or so? If he shows he's not treading water I don't see why you don't let him prove himself. I think he only made two mistakes(that I remember) when he was called up.

2 mistakes a game? 2 mistakes a period?

He was far from mistake free. He was overaggressive pinching and surrendered several odd man rushes against. I like Gudas as much as the next guy, but he needs to be reigned in.

So..... about one tenth of the ratios brewer and carle put up?

Gudas shouldn't be at number two minutes, but since so far we have addressed having nobody ready for 1/2 shutdown dman minutes by signing fillpulla, who the hell knows.

Again, I said only 2 that I remember. I did my best to forget everything after the first seven games.
