I will take Jones-Hedman eleven times out of ten. But I would be just as happy with mak/drouin

Default McCoshen

Any thoughts on Ian McCoshen in the 2nd round?

Saw someone say it on Twitter and I agree: this is essentially Sakic saying "Hey Tallon, I'm gonna take the guy you want...how bad do you want him?"

RLR compared McCoshen to Travis Hamonic and said he's a solid, hard-edged prospect. He's at #53 on their list. The only minor negative I'd see there is that he's a lefty.

Default Thanks

Thanks Pete, I was looking at prospects and it looks like he might be a solid stay at home Dman who is a physical player.

I don't know how Draftsite calculates their lists but I wouldn't be upset with their mock.

It follows:
3rd overall: Jonathan Drouin(F, Halifax Moosehead)
32nd overall: Ian McCoshen(D, Waterloo)[Seems like he would be a good pick but in their mock they have Robert Hagg going at 37 and I would prefer to have him personally]
124th overall: Colby Cave(C, Swift Current Broncos)
154th overall: Taylor Cammarata(F, Waterloo)[If he falls to this pick I would love to take him, I'd love to take him with our 5th rounder as well. He's small, 5'9", but appears to be a complete offensive dynamo. If he's a later pick he could be a major steal]
184th overall: Tommy Veilleux(LW, Victoriaville)[Don't know a thing about him, his stats make me think he's a grinder but he seems a little to small for the role. Probably better players available or boom/bust prospects like Palat or Gusev]
186th overall: Brent Pederson(LW, Kitchener)

It seems unlikely they'd go through this draft only taking 1 d-man.

Default Mirco Mueller

I would love to see the Bolts pick Swiss-born Mirco Mueller, if he's still available at #33. I watched him all season in Everett, and he was upstaging Ryan Murray in the early part of the season, before Murray got hurt. Plays similar to Murray, but with a bit more grit. Good size, good skater, good decisions with the puck. Could be more physical and use his size more, but will definitely take the hit to make the play, and can dish it out and mix it up some, too. Could be a 2nd round steal.

It always seems there's like 4-6 of them in every draft, too, so it's not like they're rare birds. So, there's no sizzle for me in a guy like him.
Thanks.

I've seen few that hit like him though. And because of that, I wouldn't mind the Lightning taking him if he's available in the 2nd round, but I doubt he drops that far.
