Boring as hell if the rumor is true...watching those teams even once doesn't do that much for me. We've been playing the so-called "rivals" six times since Lockout 2.0, down from eight in years prior; for that to increase from six to seven in the half season following Lockout 3.0 is completely ludicrous, so we can only hope the rumor is just that. Although this is Buttman we're talking about, so look for his simple-minded version of the concept of "rivalries" to dominate at least until Lockout 4.0 in 2020

Schedule is out finally. We don't have it as bad as some teams. Max 4 game roadtrips and 1 5 game home stand in the beginning of the year. We have a chance to do some damage as long as the team comes out competing.

Yup the schedule is out and at least we are only playing the division rivals no more than 5 times.

However, I really do have a gripe.

Having been a 1/2 or full season ticket holder since the begining of time I've always had the opening night as part of my package. Before they fired, let go the ticket staff from last year, it was never a problem. Now I have a bunch of non participant agents who do not have a freaking clue my package does not include opening night. Well you really know how to irritate and infuriate your season ticket holders.

So not only am I really peeved about the stupid NHL and NHLPA they add the absolute insult to this long time 30+ year devoted fan of the game.

BTW: I did post this on the bolt blog but it was wiped..... no allowance for anything but Ooooh Boy I'm so thrilled that the sport of whiners is back.



This should be the knew theme song for the treatment of the NHL fans.

I am somewhat ashamed to announce that my self imposed boycott of Lightning merchandise lasted almost 15 minutes from the time I arrived at the Forum. In my defense, it was a contest between my cheapness (50% off, $5 caps) and my desire to punish the Lightning, the NHL and the players for the labor dispute. Cheapness won.

But look at it this way, the more I spent, the more I was saving buying products that I would have bought next year for full price - thus hurting the players and owners. Yeah, that's a lame excuse - I'll just buy more crap next year.
