those asking, Bill Daly confirmed you CANT use the compliance buyouts on players who have LTIR status, such as Chris Pronger.
I presume this would include Ohlund as well?

The key to that wording, as presented, is the designation of Long-Term Injured Reserve. Panaccio is implying a player who doesn't have that designation (LTIR) can still be bought out, even if injured. I'd love to get clarification on this as well as whether Ohlund was ever placed on the LTIR or the regular IR list.

I don't think he was able to be put on LTIR since we weren't up against the cap, right?

That's a good one

I don't know if that's a requirement but everything I've come across that references Ohlund's injury designation does not specifically state that he was placed on LTIR.

No free Center Ice/Gamecente. Sounds like $50 for the season. Wonder if media will keep pushing him on what he had in mind when he said the NHL had something significant in the works for the fans if this wasn't it?

Of course Gary had something significant for the fans, I believe it is manufactured by KY.

Honestly, I'm glad Gamecenter isn't free. The servers would be CRUSHED with all the traffic -- it'd be unwatchable.
