I've never heard of "unconditional waivers" before.

Maybe they intend to outright release him as opposed to a buyout?

IMO this action with Fadden today sheds a lot more light on the recent Tyler Johnson signing. Does Johnson get signed if Fadden was in the future plans of the team? Maybe. But I guarantee you that the organization knew two weeks ago they were cutting Fadden when they signed Johnson.

Could you explain further? I'm not really doubting it, but it seemed like Mitch was having a very good year with the Everblades until his blood clot, and had no major discipline issues to speak of.

I think he's saying that the team signed Johnson knowing full well that they were going to cut Fadden, thus they weren't adding another contract towards the 50 man limit.

He's actually had character issues since he began juniors. And there's a strong rumor that he was in trouble earlier this year with the 'Blades. (nothing confirmed yet)

I don't think TJ and Fadden's moves are related at all. Just coincidence that they ended up around the same time.

Fadden was likely on a short leash to begin the year.
