Just saw the documentary by Matt Damon "Inside Job". Great job about the greed that still is going on today.

Matt is a huge Obama supported or at least was in 2008. However this ending is not very kind. Leaves one with the impression that until we change our laws and start to regulate again nothing will change.

Technically, a 2010 film because it won an academy award for the top documentary..

But it certainly it is very well done. I did not get all the way through it late last night, but it was quite interesting...

It's absolutely amazing to me what these creeps get away with...

i was shocked that Obama would "recycle" many of the people that refused to look at the big picture or had their hands so dirty is beyond me.

Makes one wonder about our "elite" institutions of learning.

Default xmen + super 8

Saw X-Men last night and it truly is first class - great stuff. Great performance by Michael Fassbender as Erik Lensherr - fantastisch! Also, best use of that one f-word yer allowed with a pg-13 movie - had no idea that little scene was in there - got a big kick out of that one. Tip of the cap to Kevin Bacon's performance as well.

Super 8 - Mint! Great summer popcorn flick and a total tribute to all those 80's Spielberg flicks (incl 2 from the 70's - jaws and close enc). Who knew a train crash could be so chaotic and kinetic? The scene where the kid explains dry bushing and why you need 14 different kinds of gray was close to the heart as well. ;-)

Was originally looking forward to Green Lantern, but, man, some of those reviews (esp the guys on AICN) are just killin' it. Glad you liked it, Jester, maybe I just have to level-set my expectations appropriately before going in. And, of course, those of us who grew up watching the Superfriends battle the Legion of Doom all know where this one is heading.

Just saw X-Men, thought it was terrific. Reminded me of an old spy thriller

You should still look forward to it. I saw it last night and really liked it. Of course, I am a GL fan, but after seeing the movie, most of the critical reviews ring hollow to me. They seem to be based on just not enjoying the source material in the first place. What a surprise - if you don't like the Green Lantern, you probably won't like the movie. Who knew.

And I don't care what anyone says, that WAS Hal Jordan. I feel like the criticisms of Ryan Reynolds aren't fair, because as far as I know the books? That was Hal effing Jordan to a T. Modernized a bit, but they had to do that.

My only criticism is that the film could have been a little longer to flesh some of the parts out a bit more and Blake Lively's performance, although not bad, did feel a little wooden.
