The magic cut-off number 6' for height reminds me of the arbitrary yet universally acknowledged cut-off for SV% at .900 and the 200 lbs. weight number. Largely it's just perceptual. All else being equal, is a goalie 5'11" 199 lbs. with an .899 really less attractive as a prospect than a guy 6'0" 201 lbs. with a .901? Hardly--but try telling that to the subconscious mind. The second guy just "feels" noticeably bigger, stronger and better, purely because of our conditioning to those numerals.
