Stupid, not sexist

Brittney Griner playing in the NBA? Ludicrous. Unless the aim is to make the NBA a complete freak show.

Give her the Manon Rheaume treatment?

I feel like if she played a less physical position this wouldn't be quite as controversial. She already got abused pretty badly in the women's game so probably not a good idea to throw her in against men.

Let her try out. If she can cut it, she can cut it. I don't see the controversy, really.

I thought the NBA had it written in their rules that only men can play? If it doesn't specify that only males can play then I don't see the problem. If she can keep up why shouldn't she get a shot? Pretty sure worse players have been(or maybe are) in the league.

This.

Basketball is also a sport where getting breathed on sends you to the line to shoot two. So there really is a limit to just how much being physical helps you. Her shooting could really make up for any physicality "problems".

If you are good enough, you should be able to play. Period.

She is 6'8" and weighs 175. Plays CENTER.

Obviously, you have never seen a women's basketball game. It translate as well to men's BBall as broomball does to NHL hockey.

I watched our USF Women all season, and I know that they would have destroyed our men's team.

Somewhere in the world there is a woman who can compete on a "Men's" team. There should not be a rule that excludes her from doing so. You try out like everybody else, and you make the team like everybody else.

Griner has almost no chance in the NBA. That said, if she wants to try it, go for it. I personally wouldn't draft her. Let her compete in summer ball for a spot. But, in the NBA, she's not taller than everyone else and she certainly isn't going to inflict her will down low.

If they played 100 times the women MIGHT win once. Maybe. I'm being generous.

There is a reason that you don't see mixed sex b ball at ANY level past 6 or 7 years old.
