Congratulations to Michael Phelps

I have been generally turned off by all the media hype surrounding the guy, but at the end of the day he backed it up.

I am genuinely happy that he won

And it's so refreshing that he's a very humble and gracious guy. Congrats to Michael, his family and coach. They all have sacrificed for this accomplishment.

Past 2 summer Olympics they've picked the right guy to hype. Congrats to him, he's awesome.

Grats to him, and let's not forget a couple of those would not be possible without a team effort!

YES!! I was getting more and more upset with him as time went on because he hardly mentioned them, then after his final gold he kept thanking them and I was happy. Each member of his teams in their relays also swam their asses off. None were really "weak" links and all swam really hard.

The hype was getting a little old though. There's some other great things going on in the olympics also. And the questions their asking him are the same old stuff over and over...oh well.

Any how congrats to him. Wonder what he'll do in 4 years? Be cool if he swam completely different events and dominated those also. He's certainly the greatest swimmer of all time; so far.

Great volleyball match going on right now! Go Misty May!

I think he'll probably only swim 3 or 4 events in 4 years since he only needs 3 more medals to become the all-time medal leader. I'd bet he breaks that record too and calls it quits. He'll probably get a gig doing commentary or something and relax with his millions.

You can't forget Lezak in that epic 4x100 race. That guy swam his face off.

Said yesterday that he wanted to break the 8 golds in one olympics record next time.

Good luck. He just barely got 8 this time by a finger nail length. That one was a good race because he wasn't a run away clear winner. Good suspense for once!
