I like the move on Cuba. The Cold War needs to be left behind. Cuba and Florida have been close economic partners since before there was a US of A and the restoration of relations is needed.

Understand that each and every Cuban who shows up on our shores is automatically granted "asylum"; in a word amnesty and a path to citizenship not available to citizens of other totalitarian regimes. Evens the playing field for all of them and no surprise that this has not been mentioned as it is Obama's doing. This is why English is no longer the primary language in S FL and much of Tampa.

True, but the worry is that if they can claim victory, they can get a successor in there to follow their path. Like I said, I'm far from an expert, just what some experts have debated on NPR over the last day or so.

Having a day to let this sink in and after flipping channel after channel and listening to our thugs in DC........the end of the trade embargo will never happen. The thing that Obama forgot to tell everyone was that only the Congress can lift the embargo and that is not going to happen as McConnell will pull a Harry Reid and refuse to bring any bill to the floor.

Obama can "chip" away at the sanctions, but the travel and trade embargos are remaining intact for now.

And the State Department needs funds to fund a new embassy and I do not think this republican congress will give Kerry the funding.

Are they actually doing away with this? It'd be nice as it's total nonsense & only exists because the old guard who came over were staunchly conservative.

Yeah you are right. How about as long as Obama is in office?

I too think it is time that we let the free market work so those that are living under the dictator regime will see what they can have.

According to this article that policy will remain in effect.

That is an assumption on my part. Logically, if we normalize relations with a country, what would we be granting asylum from?

But, this is Congress we are talking about..... Mucus Rubio would prefer we bomb Havana rather normalize relations. Holding these old grudges makes us look positively.......Muslim.

In my mind Sony owes America an appology for making any movie with that no talent Rogen.

Do you really want an answer to that question :D
