I had the Illinois State Scholarship as well. Unfortunately, I was a lazy unmotivated kid and lost it. I was in the first wave of kids with student loans. $9k was a big number when I graduated in 1977. And it increased when I went back to complete an accounting major. Job market for Sociology majors was as bad then as it is now.
