The road trip ends with the repeated thuds of the Ads' shooters banging their heads against a wall.

Norfolk actually outshot Lowell by a staggering 44 to 24 margin, but couldn't solve the Devils' netminder to make a comeback. So ends a frustrating road trip in which the Admirals started to show what they can do offensively (with tonight's game excluded), but still can't manage to keep the puck out of the back of their own net.

It's not a huge hole for Norfolk (5-10-4) to climb out of quite yet. They're still within 4 points of Binghamton and Philadelphia in the race for the final playoff spot in the division. But, urgency needs to be setting in. It's understandable that the Admirals weren't able to make more headway on a two week road trip through the Northeast. However, the Ads start a three game homestand on Wednesday at The Scope against Springfield, and the results need to start coming in the friendly confines of the Hall of Doom.

The Admirals' 77 goals allowed is the second-highest total in the AHL, and Saturday marked the 14th time Norfolk has surrendered at least four goals.
