Riku Helenius got the start on the home opener. Playing well. Scoreless after the first period.

Lawton on the Ads radio during intermission:
+ Haven't determined what to do with Janus yet
+ Tokarski had a "very good camp". Expect big things from him.
+ Understand that the Lightning have big issues with the shootout. Doing all kinds of things to improve it. Some of it is a mental block.
+ Foster won't play against CAR. Maybe early next week. Thursday at the latest.
+ Excited about the play of the team against NJD.
+ Bunch of other NOR/TAM stuff that was just yeah-yeah kind of stuff...

Didn't hear him comment on Mark Parrish.

Supposedly his defense disappeared on a line change and he was pretty much left all alone.

I attended the game. Wishart mishandled a puck that Moller recovered behind the defense and rifled a shot Helenius got a piece of. Helenius would certainly like to have that one back.

I can't figure out why Smaby can't crack the Bolts lineup. He was a beast out there hitting everything in purple, many of them crushing hits. Mihalik played a good game and was more physical. He won some fans over when he went after Parse who had run Helenius.

Tyrell didn't play badly but Fadden was invisible.

There's more speed in this year's edition and they played physical.

They tightened up the PK since Hershey, now they need to turn their attentions to the PP. Not good puck movement and no crashing the net on SOG looking for rebounds.

But overall they played a good game and but for Bernier could have won it.

We will see how Tic does tonight. They will need to play all three periods like they did the first and third.

I was surprised to see Lawton at the game, hope it means good things for the ADS.

Any recap of Fritz-Westgarth?

Westgarth is close to breaking intot the Kings line-up and replacing Ivanans.

I'd love for the Lightning to try for Ivanans if he becomes available, good checker, good fighter and can skate a bit more than the average enforcer.

Listened to the game and both fists and hair was flying according to the radio guys -- as both Fritz and Westgarth have longish locks. Radio guys called it a draw as both players got some good shots in. Apparently a rematch from 9/15 during the NHL pre-season when the tangled in a Phoenix-LAKings preseason game. Fritz was at the Coyote training camp.

He didn't do anything great that really stood out to me. But on the other hand he didn't make any glaring errors.

I don't know what's going on in Tampa, but you need to get Smaby back there post haste. He has been an absolute beast since he's been here. He's hitting has been excellent and he's hustled his ass off. I can't believe that either Hale or Krajicek are better than him. Not that I want to see him go, but his style of play would be good for the Bolts.

And keep an eye on Mihalik. The first two home games and he's not the same player of the last 2 years. Right now he's really elevated his game and is using his size finally. But his passing and decision making have also shown improvement.

Thanks... I'm also a Kings fan. Last season, I was a season ticket holder for the Seattle Thunderbirds and Hickey was amazing for them. I was just curious how he was doing with Manchester.
