Lightning prospect Michael Zador, who had only dressed as backup once in the Attack’s last several games, was the surprise starter for Owen Sound Friday night in a must-win situation. Though he allowed five goals, Zador did pick up the win when the Attack’s Matt Petgrave scored on the first shot of overtime. Owen Sound had a 5-3 lead entering the third period before being outshot 17-7 and outscored 2-0 to send the game to an extra period. Geoffrey Schemitsch was scoreless for the third straight game, but was plus-1 for the victors. Game 4 is Sunday in Owen Sound with Zador the likely starter - though one never knows with Owen Sound. Before Friday, he hadn’t started a game since Game 1 of their second round series with Plymouth. Scott Stajcer, who had been starting for the Attack, didn’t even dress Friday. Owen Sound’s coach, Mark Reeds, has juggled his three goalies all playoffs. He was named OHL Coach of the Year in April.
