Gatineau scored twice in 1:20 early in the third period to break a 2-2 tie, then added an empty net goal with three seconds left to win Game 7 vs. Quebec and advance to the QMJHL Finals. The Olympiques completed an improbable, but not impossible comeback from down 3-1 in the series over the higher seeded Remparts. Lightning prospect Adam Janosik was scoreless for Gatineau, but was plus-2 for the night and was on the ice for the game winning goal. Gatineau now gets the privilege of facing one of the CHL’s powerhouses, St. John, for the championship and right to go to the Memorial Cup. That series will begin Thursday in New Brunswick.

Casey Cizikas (Islanders) scored once and added two assists for First Star honors to lead the Majors to a 5-2 victory in the opening game of the OHL Finals. Owen Sound, who scored 10 times on Windsor in their last game, could only manage two against J.P. Anderson (2011) Tuesday. Schemitsch had the puck stolen from him for the empty net goal to end the game. Game 2 is Thursday in Owen Sound.
