BCHL Interior Conference Semifinals – Game 4

Silverbacks lead Best of 7 series 3-1

C Brendan O’Donnell, PEN: 0-0-0, 0 PIM
Season totals: 58 GP, 29-43-72, 28 PIM
Playoff totals: 5 GP, 1-3-4, 9 PIM

Penticton staved off elimination by finally beating Silverbacks goaltender Kris Moore twice in both the first period and twice again in the second. The Vees allowed two third period goals to make a dramatic last 10 minutes of the game. After badly outshooting Salmon Arm in Games 1-3, Penticton was outshot by one in Game 4. The series now shifts to Penticton for Game 5 Monday.

Lincoln Stars 4 @ Fargo Force 7
C Jimmy Mullin, FGO: 0-2-2, +1, 0 PIM, 8 SOG
Season totals: 44 GP, 19-31-50, +24, 24 PIM

Fargo got some revenge on Lincoln for shutting the Force out in their last game. Mullin’s eight shots led the team. Fargo is back in a tie for third in the West, though Sioux Falls has two games in hand on them.

London Knights 2 @ Owen Sound Attack 5
D Geoffrey Schemitsch, OS: Did not play (injured - broken arm)
Season totals: 45 GP, 1-19-20, +17, 14 PIM
G Michael Zador, OS: Win, 29 saves on 31 shots, *First Star*
With Attack: 12 GP, 8-2-0-0, 3.08 GAA, .899 sv%, 0 SO
With Oshawa: 18 GP, 10-3-1-1, 3.36 GAA, .879 sv%, 1 SO
Season Totals: 30 GP, 18-5-1-1, 3.25 GAA, .887 sv%, 1 SO

In his first game in nearly a month, Zador was named First Star for the Attack in a win over London. Zador, who normally sits backup in Owen Sound, suffered a concussion in warm-ups vs. London a few weeks ago. Schemitsch is reportedly skating again and should be back by the playoffs.

Prince George Cougars 5 @ Seattle Thunderbirds 1
RW Brett Connolly, PG: 1-1-2, +1, 0 PIM, *First Star*
Season totals: 56 GP, 42-25-67, -5, 26 PIM

The Cougars earned their second big win a row, defeated Seattle 5-1 Saturday night in Washington. Prince George beat Vancouver 8-0 on Friday night. Connolly had a goal and an assist in both games. The Cougars are up to seventh in the West, and more importantly three points up on ninth-place Kamloops with a game in hand.

Kootenay Ice 3 @ Spokane Chiefs 4 (SO)
C Tyler Johnson, SPO: 1-1-2, -1, 0 PIM
Season Totals: 67 GP, 51-60-111, +27, 44 PIM

Johnson has goals in four of his last five games after picking up his league-leading 51st of the year Saturday night. He hit the 60 assist and 110 point markers during the game, too. He also pulled within three points of Linden Vey for the league lead in points. Spokane let a two goal lead evaporate late and needed the shootout to win. Johnson was the first shooter for the Chiefs, but failed to convert his attempt. Spokane has clinched at least the third seed in the West.

Edmonton Oil Kings 0 @ Saskatoon Blades 4
D Teigan Zahn, SAS: 0-1-1, +2, 0 PIM
Season totals: 69 GP, 3-20-23, +36, 133 PIM

Zahn has at least one assist in four of his last five games.
