Owen Sound Attack 2 @ Guelph Storm 3
D Geoffrey Schemitsch, OS: 1-0-1, +1, 0 PIM

Schemitsch, who had 4 goals and 40 points as a rookie last season, scored the Attack’s first goal of the year, but it wasn’t enough to top the Storm in Guelph.

Despite outshooting Kamloops on the road 41-28, the Cougars couldn’t beat Jon Groenhyde more than twice. Connolly had 10 goals and 19 points in 16 games last year for PG. All eyes (especially those of Lightning GM Steve Yzerman) will be on Connolly to play a full season this year.

Zahn, who was voted unanimously as captain of the Blades this week, led his team to a season opening win over Prince Albert. The overage defenseman had 0 goals, 3 assists, a minus-3 rating, and 84 PIM in 44 games last year with Saskatoon.
