Seems like the Lightning may have some complacency starting to creep into their mindset, especially in a game like this where they staked themselves to a 2-0 lead after the First Period. It's a challenge for Tampa Bay down the stretch, now sitting on 102 points and having no new players to integrate into the lineup following the trade deadline. With a 13 point lead on the field league-wide, a President's Trophy seems like an inevitability and the Lightning are in the enviable position of having 18 games with very little on the line. The danger of that is, of course, sloppiness creeping into their game and finding themselves ambushed in the first round of the postseason. That's the current challenge for the coaching staff and the leadership of the team with the calendar about to flip over to March.

Erik Cernak was -1 with 1 shot, 5 hits, and 2 blocked shots in 21:45. Cernak will graduate from prospect status on the website with his next appearance this season, likely closing out the 2018-2019 BP Alumni class.
