Martin St. Louis was the game's third star.

It seemed like, through the first two periods, the emotion of the trade deadline changes finally gave way to the reality that this is a much less talented team than it was 1-2 weeks ago, especially when you factor in Lecavalier's injury. It would be simple to call the first 40 minutes a lack of effort, but I think it's more to the point to say the Lightning may be running on fumes now. That's too bad. They've got to be sick to their stomachs knowing where they could have been if they pulled out a win last night (within 3 points of the division lead, let alone the playoffs).

Trevor Smith had 2 hits and 1 blocked shot in 10:29.

J.T. Wyman had 1 blocked shot in 7:48.

Mike Angelidis had 1 shot and 2 hits in 7:02.
