NHL Game Night: 10-5-19 Lightning at Panthers

Panthers declare themselves Stanley Cup champions on October 5th after posting their first win against Lightning in over a year.

Andrei Vasilevskiy allowed 4 goals on 28 shots for the loss. He's got to stop that fourth goal early in the Third Period. I get that it's a tipped puck, but with Smith getting the goal to keep the team alive before the end of the Second Period, you need that situational stop early in the Third to give yourself a real shot at the comeback.

First Period

Second Period
9:39 FLA Hoffman (2), (Huberdeau, Yandle)(PP)
11:05 FLA Hoffman (3), (Huberdeau, Barkov)(PP)
12:32 FLA Aciari (1), (Sceviour, Hunt)
16:23 TB Smith (1), (Witkowski, Maroon)

Third Period
0:17 FLA Hoffman (4), (Ekblad, Connolly)
6:40 TB Stamkos (1), (Hedman, Shattenkirk)
15:41 TB Joseph (1), (Gourde, Verheaghe)

Bobrovsky stood on his head at times, which was probably the difference in the matchup. Fortunately, as the game was played at Sunrise, no one was there to see the Lightning's shame in dropping this one to the trash fire their neighbors to the southeast pretend is a hockey franchise.

Carter Verhaeghe had his first NHL point, a helper, and was +1 with 3 shots in 9:18.
