NHL Game Day: 2-15-20 Flyers at Lightning

Just another typical wild Flyers/Lightning weekend afternoon game.

PHI-3
TB-5

Andrei Vasilevskiy allowed 3 goals on 33 shots for the win. The score and the stat line don't fully reflect it, but he was the difference in the game.

First Period
3:17 TB Killorn (22), (Shattenkirk, Sergachev)
14:55 TB Paquette (6), (Johnson, Maroon)

Second Period
2:35 TB Verhaeghe (8), (Hedman, Gourde)
8:57 PHI Provorov (11), (Giroux, Couturier)(PP)

Third Period
12:34 TB Point (21), (Stamkos, Kucherov)
15:31 PHI VanRiemsdyk (18), (Niskanen, Sanheim)(PP)
16:15 PHI Giroux (16), (Provorov, Konecny)
19:38 TB Kucherov (28), (Stamkos, Hedman)(EN)

Vasilevskiy, Steven Stamkos, and Brayden Point were the game's three stars.

40 minutes of pretty strong hockey and then arguably the worst Third Period the Lightning have put out protecting a lead in quite some time. Thankfully, Vasilevskiy stood on his head long enough for Point to establish the three goal margin and the Flyers, as is custom, were only able to get as close as the false hope goal.

Mitchell Stephens was +1 with 4 penalty minutes, 2 shots, and 1 hit in 10:40. He was also 67% on 12 draws.
