Western junior Dane Walters scored with .57 seconds left to keep the Broncos unbeaten. The win also ended the nations longest home winning streak for the Wolverines. Former LA Kings head coach Andy Murray became the first coach at Western Michigan to go undefeated in their first nine games. Witkowski missed the game as he was suspended for a game disqualification penalty last game.

Cornell picked up their first win of the season beating top 10 team and defending conference champ Yale in a rematch of last season's ECAC final. Gotovets scored his first goal of the season on the PP in the third to help avenge last years' 6-0 loss in the finals of the ECAC tournament to the Bulldogs.

Peca assisted on Edmonton prospect Kellen Jones' second period PP goal to run his point streak to nine games. Peca's 10 points has him tied for third among freshman in scoring in the NCAA.
