USHL
Fargo Force 2 @ Cedar Rapids Roughriders 3 (SO)
D Luke Witkowski, FGO: 0-0-0, +1, 0 PIM, 2 SOG
Season totals: 47 GP, 5-14-19, +30, 108 PIM

QMJHL

D Mark Barberio, MCT: 0-1-1, +1, 0 PIM, 2 SOG
Season totals: 65 GP, 14-30-44, +9, 42 PIM

Barberio has points in three straight games. With the win, Moncton clinches the Atlantic Division title over Cape Breton, who also won, but remains four points back with one game to play – against Moncton.

W/C Luca Cunti, RIM: 3-0-3, +2, 2 PIM, 4 SOG, *First Star*
Season totals: 56 GP, 17-25-42, +8, 32 PIM

Cunti (pictured) gets his second hatter of the year (11/30 vs. Saint John), scoring the game’s first two goals and its last goal to earn First Star honors and help Rimouski beat rival Patrick Roy and the Remparts.

Cape Breton Screaming Eagles 4 @ PEI Rocket 3 (OT)
D Michael Ward, CB: 0-1-1, +2, 2 PIM, 0 SOG
Season totals: 64 GP, 7-27-34, +9, 99 PIM

Season totals: 61 GP, 36-38-74, +23, 49 PIM

G Dustin Tokarski, SPO: Win, 29 saves on 32 shots
Season totals: 53 GP, 34-17-0-2, 1.99 GAA, .936 sv%, 7 shutouts

This was a big win for Spokane, behind four points from Drayson Bowman (Carolina). The Chiefs keep pace with Kelowna for the third seed in the West. The Rockets defeated the Blazers in Kamloops to stay one point ahead of the Chiefs. Kelowna was up 5-0 in that game and hung on for a 6-4 win. TC has already clinched the US Division title and the West’s second seed. This was a much better night for Tokarski than the last game against the Americans, when Fadden was First Star in a big TC win (and fight-fest). There was only one fighting major this game, compared to over 20 last meeting. TC will host Spokane Saturday night. Chet Pickard remains out injured for the Americans. He was hurt in the last game against Spokane. Both Spokane and Kelowna have two games left, including Sunday against each other.

Everett Silvertips 5 @ Vancouver Giants 3
C James Wright, VAN: 0-0-0, E, 0 PIM
Season totals: 70 GP, 20-26-46, +24, 52 PIM

Vancouver has long clinched the West’s No.1 spot, but continues to limp toward the playoffs. Evander Kane had a goal (47) and assist for the Giants. Vancouver has lost 4 of its last 5 games.

In other news, Prince Albert won in a shootout at home against Saskatoon to tie idle Torrie Jung and Edmonton for the East’s 8th seed. Edmonton has a game in hand and two games left total (home and home vs. last place Red Deer). The Raiders go to Saskatoon Saturday for their finale. If they end up tied for 8th spot, they’ll play a sudden-death game in Prince Albert on Tuesday.
