Artem Sergeev (pictured) hit 30 points for the first time in his brief QMJHL career, helping Val-d’Or to a 4-2 win over the visiting Pheonix on Saturday. Sergeev’s previous career high for points in a season was 27, set in 64 games two years ago. The Foreurs are ninth of 18 clubs in the QMJHL league standings. The top 16 make the playoffs.

Dotchin returned from missing a game to notch an assist in Barrie’s 5-3 loss to Saginaw. He has 17 points this season, two shy of his career high set in 64 games last year. Barrie leads the Eastern Conference by four points over Belleville.

Note: Windsor’s Slater Koekkoek is out for the season with an injured shoulder.
