KHL Game Day: 10/19/10
Hanty-Mansiysk 4 @ Novokuznetsk 2
Denis Kazionov, Novokuznetsk, 0-0-0, E, 25 PIM, 1 SOG
Season totals: 3 GP, 0-1-1, -1, 27 PIM
Denis Kazionov got thrown out of the game for spearing in 7:02 of ice time as Novokuznetsk fell to Yugra 4-2. Kazionov's penalty led to an Igor Skorokhodov power play goal that made the match 3-0 in the second period. Novokuznetsk got the game to 3-2 with a pair of power play goals of their own, but Skorokhodov scored a second goal with ten seconds left in regulation to seal Yugra's win. Skorokhodov currently leads Yugra in scoring after spending much of the past few seasons developing in Russia's lower leagues. He also leads the team in the number of "o's" in his name by two. Sorry Evgeny Khvostov, maybe next season.
Kazan 3 @ Nizhnekamsk 1
Dmitri Kazionov, Kazan, 1-0-1, E, 0 PIM, 2 SOG
Season totals: 7 GP, 1-0-1, -1, 6 PIM
The elder Kazionov brother scored the game opening power play goal and logged 12:42 of ice time in Kazan's 3-1 win over Nizhnekamsk. The goal was Kazionov's first point of the season. Kazan also got goals from ex-NHLer Marcel Hossa and ex-Thrashers draft pick Ilya Nikulin.
