Barrie Colts 2 @ North Bay Battalion 5

C Alexey Lipanov, BAR: 0-0-0, -2, 0 PIM, 0 SOG, 9/15 FO
Season Totals: 2 GP, 0-1-1, -1, 0 PIM
‘16-‘17 Totals (VHL-Russia): 21 GP, 3-5-8, +5, 8 PIM

One game after putting 11 goals up on Ottawa, the Colts fell in North Bay, 5-2. One of Lipanov’s minuses was on an empty net goal against.

Erie Otters 2 @ Kingston Frontenacs 3 (OT)

W Taylor Raddysh, Erie: 0-2-2, +1, 0 PIM, 4 SOG
Season Totals: 2 GP, 1-3-4, +2, 0 PIM
‘16-‘17 Totals: 58 GP, 42-66-108, +67, 37 PIM

Raddysh notched assists on both Otters goals, but Erie fell in overtime to the Fronts. Dallas second-rounder Jason Robertson scored the game-tying and game-winning goals for Kingston.

Western Hockey League

Swift Current Broncos 5 @ Saskatoon Blades 2

D Libor Hajek, SAS: 0-0-0, -4, 4 PIM, 1 SOG
’16-‘17 Totals: 61 GP: 4-22-26, -17, 86 PIM

Swift Current scored two empty-net goals at the end to make the game look easier than it was, but Hajek gets two additional minuses for those regardless.

Kamloops Blazers 2 @ Kelowna Rockets 6

D Cal Foote, KEL: 0-3-3, +1, 4 PIM, 3 SOG, *First Star*
‘15-‘16 Totals: 71 GP, 6-51-57, +39, 41 PIM

Foote was first star in his first game of the season, and his three assists put the new Kelowna captain on pace for 216 this season. That’d be some kind of record or something. Kelowna was up 6-0 after two periods, chasing Connor Ingram’s successor in the Kamloops starter’s net, Dylan Ferguson (Stars).

Moose Jaw Warriors 3 @ Prince Albert Raiders 0

C Brett Howden, MJ: Did not play
’16-‘17 Totals: 58 GP, 38-43-81, +14, 73 PIM

D Oleg Sosunov, MJ: 0-0-0, +1, 5 PIM, 1 SOG
’16-‘17 Totals: 58 GP, 38-43-81, +14, 73 PIM

Sosunov made his North American debut Friday, getting in a fight and finishing plus-1 against Prince Albert. He fought second-year defenseman Zack Hayes. Brody Willms (undrafted) stopped 21 shots for the shutout. Howden remains in Tampa with the Lightning, though he’s expected to return as captain of the Warriors.
