Barre-Boulet was held scoreless by the Remparts, but converted in the shootout to help the Armada pull out two points on the road. Luke Henman (2018 draft eligible) and Drake Batherson (OTT, 2017 4th round pick) both had a goal and an assist in regulation, and Batherson also converted in the shootout. Sam Dunn (undrafted) scored a power play goal for Quebec in the 3rd to force overtime and eventually the shootout.

Katchouk set up Morgan Frost (PHI, 2017 1st round pick) for the game’s opening goal just 1:09 in the game, and then Raddysh set up Jack Kopecka’s (ANA, 2016 4th round pick) first of the game just four minutes later to give the Soo an early 2-0 lead. But the game swung back-and-forth with the Sting bouncing back to a 3-2 lead, and then the Greyhounds rallying for a 5-4 lead at the 2nd intermission. Drake Rymsha (LAK, 2017 5th round pick) netted a power play marker, his second goal of the game, with just 98 seconds left in regulation to force overtime and eventually the shootout. Raddysh, who set up the 5-4 go-ahead goal with 26 seconds left in the 2nd period failed to convert in the shootout for the Soo. Kopacka scored the lone goal in the shootout to go along with his two goals and an assist in regulation to pace the Greyhounds. Hayden Verbeek (undrafted) notched four assists in the contest for Sault Ste. Marie.

Minnesota State High School League

Sammy Walker and the #2 ranked Edina High Hornets (23-2-0) draw #7 ranked Lakeville North High Panthers (13-10-2) in the quarterfinals of the Minnesota Class AA State Championship Tournament at 11 AM CT on March 8, 2018 at the Xcel Energy Center in St. Paul. Lakeville North won the 1AA section tournament as the #1 seed with a 4-3 win over crosstown rivals Lakeville South (whom Edina beat 4-1 during the regular season). The semi-finals will be played March 9th and the finals next Saturday night on March 10th. This will be Edina’s first game against Lakeville North this season, and the winner will play the victor of #3 Duluth East and #6 St. Michael-Albertville.
