Juniors Game Night: 10-5-17

Ontario Hockey League

Sault Ste. Marie Greyhounds 4 @ Windsor Spitfires 3 (OT)

W Boris Katchouk, SSM: 2-0-2, +1, 0 PIM, 5 SOG, *First Star*
Season Totals: 6 GP, 6-3-9, +3, 2 PIM
’16-’17 Season: 66 GP, 35-29-64, +18, 46 PIM

The Soo won in overtime for the third straight game, but Katchouk wasn’t able to make it three-straight overtime goals for the Lightning prospect. He “only” scored late in the third period to send the game in overtime. That was after tying the game in the second period. Hopefully things pick up for him (this is sarcasm). There was a feature on Katchouk’s clutch play in the Sault Star this week.

North Bay Battalion 1 @ Barrie Colts 3

W Alexey Lipanov, BAR: 0-1-1, +2, 0 PIM, 1 SOG, 7/16 FO
Season Totals: 6 GP, 1-5-6, +3, 0 PIM
‘16-‘17 Totals (VHL-Russia): 21 GP, 3-5-8, +5, 8 PIM

Lipanov’s linemate and countryman Andrei Svechnikov scored all three goals for Barrie as the Colts topped the Battalion, 3-1. Svechnikov is expected to go top-2 in next summer’s draft.

Flint Firebirds 1 @ Peterborough Petes 3

W/C Christopher Paquette, PBO: Did not play
Season Totals: 2 GP, 1-0-1, -1, 0 PIM
’16-‘17 Totals (NIA/PBO): 66 GP, 19-29-48, +1, 28 PIM

Paquette remains out with an upper-body injury (the head part of the upper-body).

Western Hockey League

Victoria Royals 8 @ Kelowna Rockets 3 (Wednesday)

D Cal Foote, KEL: 0-0-0, +2, 4 PIM, 3 SOG
Season Totals: 4 GP, 2-5-7, +7, 4 PIM
‘15-‘16 Totals: 71 GP, 6-51-57, +39, 41 PIM

Kelowna had a snowman put up against them but somehow Cal Foote ended up a team-high plus-2. Regan Nagy (undrafted) had a hatter for the boys from Vancouver Island.
