Somppi notched an assist on returning Czech WJC’er Filip Zadina’s (2018 draft eligible) game winning goal with 49 seconds left in the game. The Mooseheads jumped out to a 4-0 lead behind two goals from Raphael Lavoie (2019 draft eligible, and led 5-1 by the 2nd intermission. But the Titan battled back with four straight in the 3rd period, included two goals by the recently acquired blueliner Olivier Galipeau (undrafted), to knot the score at 5-5. Lavoie paced Halifax with four points and Maxime Fortier (CLB, FA) added three points.

Katchouk (pictured) returned to the Greyhounds following a strong showing for the gold medal Canadian team, picking up where he left off with a goal and two assists helping Sault Ste. Marie to a win, 7-3, over the Storm. Katchouk assisted on a Morgan Frost (PHI, 2017 1st round pick) power play marker to open the scoring just 2:46 into the game. He also assisted on the Barrett Hayton (2018 draft eligible) 2nd period goal that would eventually prove to be the game-winner, and added a shorthanded marker of his own later in the 3rd period. Frost paced Sault Ste. Marie with two goals and three points, and Hayton also tallied three points in the contest like Katchouk. Hayton, Frost, and Katchouk were the Three Stars of the Game. The Greyhounds have lost just 3 games in regulation this season.

Hajek was not in the lineup as the Blades fell to the Wheat Kings on the road. Chase Wouters (2018 draft eligible) scored twice for Saskatoon to knot the score 3-3 in the 3rd, but Ty Lewis (COL, FA) scored his 2nd of the game with just under two minutes to play to give Brandon the win.
