Orlando completed a 3-game sweep of Jacksonville Saturday when Tayler Thompson scored in overtime. The Solar Bears won all three games by one goal, including one in a shootout and Saturday in overtime. Martin Ouellette starred in all three games. Jonne Tammela had 10 shots in both the first and second games, but somehow didn’t get a shot on goal in Jacksonville. He contributed two assists instead, and is now three points off the team scoring lead despite only playing 23 games. The team is led by Matt Foget, who has played 41 games, followed by righty defenseman Cody Donaghey (39 games). Donaghey played with Nikita Kucherov and Adam Erne in different years with the Quebec Remparts during his junior career. He also played with Otto Somppi in Halifax.

Olivier Archambault was back serving popcorn after suiting up in Friday’s game.

The Solar Bears (25-18-3-0) surpassed the Icemen in the South Division standings and now sit alone in third place, one point behind South Carolina with a game in-hand. The Florida Everblades have a 17-point lead for first.
