Alex Hutchings scored to give Florida a lead a few minutes into the third period but Colorado evened the score less than a minute later and eventually came out out of the contest with the second point after coming out on top in a five-round shootout. Hutchings registered the primary assist on Mathieu Roy's power play strike in the late stages of the second period before potting his goal, which also came with the man-advantage, by maneuvering his way into enough space to rifle a shot past Jones high and glove-side to give him his fourth point in the past two games. Florida, which was nearly doubled up in shots, 38-21, got a big offensive boost with its power play, going 3-for-8 with the man-advantage, but the penalty-killing was less impressive as the Eagles scored twice while the Everblades were down a man. Both teams scored a power play goal and were a combined 2-9 with the man-advantage. After going scoreless the past couple games, Landry had one of the helpers on the game's opening goal when Aaron Bogosian gathered the puck behind the net and buried his wraparound attempt. Nagle sat in favor of Carolina G prospect John Muse for the second-straight game. Maxime Langelier-Parent remains inactive for the Everblades. Florida (7-6-4, 18 PTS) finishes its three-game set and concludes its current road trip against Colorado (7-7-3, 17 PTS) Saturday night.

Alaska Aces 5 @ Utah Grizzlies 1

F Nate Thompson, AK: 0-1-1, +2, 3 SOG, 0 PIM
Season totals: 17 GP, 4-9-13, +2, 16 PIM

Former Lightning prospect and ECHL goalie-of-the-year Gerald Coleman stopped all but one of thirty shots while backstopping Alaska to a sound thumping over Utah, which remains at the bottom of the Mountain division standings. Thompson got the primary assist on the first of Joey Crabb's two goals, an even-strength strike a few minutes into the second period that gave the Aces a 4-1 lead, after firing a shot and Crabb pounced on the resulting rebound. Brandon Dubinsky remains out due to injury. Alaska (12-5-0, 24 PTS) continues its road trip with another tilt against Utah (6-8-1, 13 PTS) Saturday evening.
