Just like the Armada in Game 1, the Titan claimed the first game on their home ice with a strong start and a better finish. Acadie-Bathurst jumped out in front with two power play goals in the first to stake a 2-0 lead at the first intermission. But the Armada would strike back in the 2nd period with a power play goal by Joel Teasdale (2018 draft eligible) and then the 2-2 equalizer by Bolt prospect Alex Barré-Boulet with this 13th of the playoffs. But the Titan poured on three goals down the stretch, including a short-handed dagger-in-the-heart marker that established a 4-2 lead. Former Foreurs captain Olivier Galipeau (undrafted) paced the Titan with a goal and two assists. The Armada will look to keep pace with the Titan Wednesday night and steal a road win to even the series.

The Bulldogs built a 1st period lead and then kept pace with the high-powered Soo offense for the rest of the game to stake a Game 3 home ice win on Monday night and take their second series lead. Bolt prospect Boris Katchouk would tally his first of three assists, setting up Joe Carroll (2019 draft eligible) for his first score of the playoffs at less than two minutes into the game and giving the Soo an early 1-0 lead. But it would be the last lead for the Greyhounds, as the Bulldogs ripped off three 1st period markers in a row, before surrendering the first of Tim Gettinger’s (NYR, 2016 5th round pick). But just 18 seconds into the 2nd frame, Brandon Saigeon (2018 draft eligible) continued his series heroics, giving Hamilton a two-goal lead. Gettinger would score a power play marker, his second of the game, to cut the lead to one, but Saigeon scored his second of the game, once again extending the lead. In the 3rd period, Jack Kopacka (ANA, 2016 4th round pick) would notch a power play goal to once again draw the Soo within one.

With three minutes left, Riley Stillman (FLA, 2016 4th round pick), the son of one the Lightning’s 2004 SCF Game 6 six heroes Cory Stillman, set up Marian Studenic (NJD, 2017 5th round pick) for Stillman’s third assist of the game, and the dagger to the heart of the Soo. Katchouk and fellow Bolt prospect Taylor Raddysh combined to setup Morgan Frost (PHI, 2017 1st round pick) on the power play to draw back within a goal with about 90 seconds in regulation but could never get the equalizer to force OT.

Sault Ste. Marie looks to even the series Wednesday night in Hamilton.
