Saint John won the 2016-2017 President’s Cup as QMJHL champion Wednesday night with a 5-1 win over the Armada. Mathieu Joseph, who finished as playoff scoring champ, had four assists in the sweep-clinching win. The Sea Dogs, who went 16-2 in the playoffs, move on to the Memorial Cup in Windsor. Sens pick Thomas Chabot was named playoff MVP. This was the third league championship for Saint John, who also won in 2011 and 2012. The Sea Dogs won the Memorial Cup in 2011. (QMJHL photo)
