Bolts Hold Six Picks in 2013 NHL Draft
TAMPA BAY – The Tampa Bay Lightning hold six selections in the 2013 NHL Entry Draft at the Prudential Center in New Jersey on Sunday, June 30, including the third overall pick. The 2013 NHL Entry Draft begins at 3 p.m. on Sunday.
The Lightning are scheduled to make their first selection with the third overall pick and then select in the second round (33rd overall), fifth round (124th overall), sixth round (154th overall) and the seventh round (184th and 186th overall). The Lightning traded their third round selection last summer to acquire goaltender Anders Lindback and traded their 2013 fourth round selection last summer to acquire forward B.J. Crombeen. The Lightning acquired a 2013 seventh round (186th overall) pick from the Carolina Hurricanes in exchange for defenseman Marc-Andre Bergeron on April 2, 2013.
NBC Sports Network will present live coverage of the 2013 NHL Entry Draft from 3-8 p.m., after which NHL Network will provide continuing coverage. Lightning Radio will broadcast a special edition of its show, Lightning Hockey Night, on Sunday afternoon at the official team Watch Party from Champps at International Plaza on AM 1250 WHNZ from 3-5 p.m., featuring hosts Rick Peckham, Dave Mishkin and Bobby “the Chief” Taylor. Additionally, WDAE AM 620’s Steve Duemig will broadcast his afternoon radio show live from New Jersey on Friday afternoon from 3 to 6 p.m.
