Portland found out that Brandon Segal is Hard to Kill, as he finished the game's second star.
This was a tough one. The Admirals battled out of a two goal hole to tie the game early in the final period, only to see their opportunities dissolve in the final 15 minutes of the game. The team is still struggling to come together defensively and they really only have one line going at this time. It hasn't helped matters that the Ads have had a bruising schedule early one. Portland, for instance, came to town in first place in their division. Darren Rumble has to hope his defense comes around with more experience, and he has to try to find a line combination other than Smolenak/Szczechura/Segal that can put the puck in the net consistently. It wouldn't hurt if one of the goaltenders would step up and steal a couple of games to help the club get their feet underneath them.
