AHL Game Night: 1-9-10 Crunch at Admirals
It's time to hit the panic button in Norfolk.
SYR-2
NOR-1
Dustin Tokarski allowed 2 goals on 32 shots for the loss. Coach Rumble decided to go back with Tokarski rather than insert Janus, and although Tokarski allowed Norfolk to fall into a 2-0 hole in the first period, he blanked Syracuse the rest of the way.
First Period
SYR Aulin, (11) (Reese, LaVallee-Smotherman), 2:37
SYR Kana, (7) (Bell, MacKenzie), 12:01
Second Period
NO SCORING
Third Period
NOR Lashoff, (3) (Simek, Krajicek), 0:46
Matt Lashoff was named the third star of the game.
Norfolk outshot Syracuse 39-32 but, as was the case in the third period last night, Kevin Lalande was practically impossible for Norfolk to solve tonight. The loss drops Norfolk into a tie for last place with Syracuse and 5 games under .500. What's really frightening is that the team is now 7-10-0 at The Scope, which typically is one of the hardest arenas for any team in the league to have to go play in. It's more than a little strange for the Admirals to have a better winning percentage on the road than at home.
