Verhaeghe, in my opinion, merited a cup of coffee in Tampa in the second half of last season and he's done nothing but improve his stock since then. The guy's done nothing but produce since coming over to the Lightning organization after the Isles cut bait. On a similar note, Jan Rutta now has 2-2-4 in his first couple of games with the Crunch. The guy's a NHL defenseman, and he seems to be a nice depth piece after the trade deadline when rosters can be expanded.

Syracuse sneaks to within three points of the division lead with two games in hand on Rochester.
