The Lightning already have him under contract for next year when he turns pro.

A Lightning 2015 third round pick, Yan is tied for the league-lead in goals with 14 with three other players despite playing four, six, and seven fewer games, respectively. D’Aoust leads the Cataractes in scoring with 26 points, just ahead of Yan. League preseason MVP candidate Anthony Beauvillier (NY Islanders) is fourth on the team with 20 points in 10 games.

Ben Thomas had an assist in his first game with the Vancouver Giants, coming over in a trade from Calgary earlier in the week. Thomas now has assists in two straight games. The trade to the Giants could be the spark and change of scenery needed to jump-start Thomas’ season. Vancouver is currently in the eighth spot in the Western Conference’s playoff race. Calgary was No. 6 in the East.
