Sosunov sits 7th in the WHL in plus-minus at +21 after 20 games -- and he has six goals. Just let that sink in. Is he a still classified as a project? Meanwhile Brett Howden remains on the shelf with an injury sustained during the first game of the WHL vs. Russia series.

Lightning Sign Oleg Sosunov to Entry Level Contract

TAMPA BAY – The Tampa Bay Lightning have signed defenseman Oleg Sosunov to a three-year, entry-level contract, vice president and general manager Steve Yzerman announced today.

Sosunov,19, skated in 32 games with Lokomotiv Yaroslavl, registering 79 penalty minutes last season. The 6-foot-8, 230-pound defenseman also appeared in eight games with the Lokomotiv junior team, recording 12 penalty minutes. Sosunov played in five postseason games with Lokomotiv Jr., registering three assists.

The Ryazan, Russia native has skated in 47 career games with Lokomotiv Jr. over two seasons, collecting four goals and 12 points. Sosunov has also appeared in 35 games with Lokomotiv over the past two seasons, including one playoff game in 2017.

Sosunov was originally selected by the Lightning in the sixth round, 178th overall, at the 2016 NHL Draft.

Lightning Trade Rights to Boko Imama to Kings

TAMPA BAY – The Tampa Bay Lightning have acquired a conditional seventh-round pick in the 2018 NHL Draft from the Los Angeles Kings today in exchange for unsigned forward prospect Bokondji Imama, vice president and general manager Steve Yzerman announced.

Imama was drafted by the Lightning in the sixth round, 180th overall, of the 2015 NHL Draft.

Bolts Ink 2016 Draft Pick Taylor Raddysh to Entry-Level Deal

TAMPA BAY – The Tampa Bay Lightning have signed forward Taylor Raddysh to a three-year, entry-level contract today, vice president and general manager Steve Yzerman announced.

Raddysh, 6-foot-2, 209 pounds, played in 58 regular season games this season with the Erie Otters of the Ontario Hockey League, recording 42 goals and 109 points with a plus-67 rating. He led the OHL for assists with 67, ranked second for points and tied for sixth for goals. Raddysh recently helped the Otters to the J. Ross Robertson Cup as champions of the OHL, registering 12 goals and 31 points in 22 games. He was tied for third for points during the OHL playoffs, along with fellow Lightning prospect Anthony Cirelli, and is third for assists. Raddysh and the Otters are preparing to play for the Memorial Cup, which is awarded to the champions of the CHL.

A native of Caledon, Ontario, Raddysh has appeared in 183 career OHL games with Erie, notching 87 goals and 209 points with a career plus-78 rating and 15 game-winning goals. He also skated in 54 career playoff games, recording 19 goals and 47 points.

Raddysh also skated for Team Canada at the 2017 IIHF World Junior Championships. He recorded five goals, tied for fourth in the tournament, and six points in seven games. Raddysh scored four goals on December 29 versus Latvia, making him the fourth player in Team Canada WJC history to do so, joining Brayden Schenn, Simon Gagne and Mario Lemieux.

The 19-year-old was drafted by the Lightning in the second round, 58th overall, of the 2016 NHL Draft.

Lightning Ink 2016 Pick Boris Katchouk to Entry Level Deal

TAMPA BAY – The Tampa Bay Lightning have signed forward Boris Katchouk to a three-year, entry level contract, vice president and general manager Steve Yzerman announced today.

Katchouk, 18, played in 66 games with the Sault Ste. Marie Greyhounds of the Ontario Hockey League this season, recording 35 goals and 64 points to go along with 46 penalty minutes. The 6-foot-1,192-pound forward ranked second on the Greyhounds for goals, third for points and fifth for assists. Katchouk paced the entire OHL for shorthanded goals with seven. The Waterloo, Ontario native also led all Greyhound skaters during the 2017 OHL Playoffs for both goals (eight) and points (13) in 11 games.

Katchouk has appeared in 141 career OHL games, all with Sault Ste. Marie over three seasons, posting 59 goals and 117 points to go along with 124 penalty minutes. He led the Greyhounds and ranked sixth in the OHL for rookie scoring during the 2015-16 season, registering 51 points.

The Lightning drafted Katchouk in the second round, 44th overall, at the 2016 NHL Draft.
