Blujus was back in the Battalion’s lineup and had an assist against fellow Lightning prospect Henri Ikonen, who extended his point streak to 14 games. It is the third-longest current streak in the league behind Ikonen’s teammate Sam Watson (2014) at 24. As for Blujus, he finished the week plus-9.

Ouch. Windsor was shellacked, 9-0, by league-leading Erie. Leafs prospect Connor Brown had six points for Erie. Brown leads the OHL with 88 points in 43 games. 2015 prospect Connor McDavid had a goal and four assists for the Otters. Koekkoek has matched last year’s game total and is ahead of last year’s pace in all categories.

Adam Erne scored twice and added an assist to lead the Remparts to a 3-1 win over the Sea Dogs. Former Rempart star Mikhail Grigorenko was returned to Quebec from the Buffalo Sabres, but the Russian star is refusing to report. If he did report, it’d be a huge boost to Quebec’s playoff chances.

Ikonen made his return to the Fronts after winning WJC gold with Finland. He extended his point streak to 13 games while setting a new career high for assists in a season. Jake Dotchin scored again and added an assist. Likely a top-2 pick in 2014, defenseman Aaron Ekblad had four goals for Barrie.

Ikonen has not yet returned from winning a gold medal at the WJCs with Finland. He has a 12-game point streak waiting for him.

Note: Windsor did not deal Slater Koekkoek today at the OHL trade deadline. He was named captain of the Spitfires later in the day. Windsor will likely enter the playoffs as a 5- or 6-seed, meaning they'll face one of the West's big-4: Erie, Sault Ste Marie, Guelph, or London. It could be a short playoff run for Windsor, though Koekkoek can join AHL Syracuse when his junior season is complete.

Travis Konecny (2015) had two goals and four points for Ottawa. He was also the victim of a heavy hit by Koekkoek.
