Former Red Wings farmhand Francis Pare chipped in 1 goal and 1 assist in the win and former Lightning draft pick Dmitri Kazionov also had a helper in the match for Metallurg. Vasily Koshechkin wins his first Gagarin Cup and the victory also marks the first time the Gagarin Cup was won by a non-Russian coach as Metallurg's bench boss this season was none other than Iron Mike Keenan.

Mikko Maenpaa scored for Praha with just 2:21 left in regulation and former Thrashers draft pick Nathan Oystrick tallied 3:53 into Overtime as Lev Praha stunned Magnitogorsk 5-4 in Game Six to even up the series. There will be a Game Seven. 4 of Praha's 5 goals came from defensemen while Magnitogorsk got 1 goal and 1 assist in defeat from former Blue Jackets pick Sergei Mozyakin.
