Ramo Named a KHL All-Star Starter

Karri Ramo has been named the starting goaltender for Team Jagr in the upcoming KHL All-Star Game, the league announced today. Taking a cue from the NHL, last year's KHL All-Star Game was held outdoors in Red Square in Moscow. This year's All-Star contest will take place in Minsk. Ramo currently has a 19-14 record in 34 games, with 2 losses coming after regulation, 3 shutouts, a 2.05 GAA, and a .913 save percentage. He is currently tied for fourth in the league in wins.

In somewhat related news, the KHL handed down a decision to Ramo's club Omsk after their brawl filled contest with Chekhov earlier this month that resulted in the game being suspended and postponed due to nineteen players being ejected. The league has decided to rule the game a forfeit by both clubs and both will receive a loss in the standings. Ramo was one of the few players on either team not to earn an ejection.
